Lolita - Novel About Forbidden Love Story

The novel is renowned in the international world because the story idea and subject content of the book is so controversial, so it can be said that quite vulgar novel. Here the narrator and protagonist, Humbert is a man obsessed and sexually involved with women aged 12 years. Lolita is a novel by Vladimir Nabokov was first published in 1955.

After its appearance novel Lolita obtain the status of legend, became one of the best novels and is the most controversial literature in the 20th century. Then came the term Lolicon or lolita complex, a term in the community for those who obsess on underage girls

Lolita told through the point of view of the main character of Humbert, writer, born in 1910 in Paris. He is obsessed with girls because of the failure with his childhood love, Annabel Leigh for "typhoid". Before the outbreak of World War II, Humbert leaves Paris to New York. In 1947, he moved to Ramsdale, a small town in New England, to write. When the house that was promised to him on fire, Humbert offered to move into the residence of Charlotte Haze, a widow who attracted to Humbert.

Humbert initially recommended denial of Charlotte will offer, until at last see the daughter of Mrs. Haze Humbert who was 12 years old were relaxing in the park. Humbert saw the figure of Annabel in Dolores kepadannya instantly fell in love and agrees to rent a room at the residence of Haze.

Furthermore, the story went on until when the time required to approve Humbert marries her or when she would be expelled from the residence of Haze. Until then at the death of Charlotte Haze in an accident, Humbert and Dolores took with him. In this way there are many stories of the relationship between Humbert with Dolores including their sexual relationship that is actually imposed unilaterally by the Humber.

Dolores and Humbert relationship story is quite complex and quite tragic end because keduannya they end in death. Humbert died in prison due to "coronary thrombosis" after writing the final manuscript Dolores died while giving birth at the time of his son.

The novel Lolita to date continue to be discussed people, students of literary criticism, and a best-seller in many countries. The novel was even named as one of the most influential novel published in the twentieth century version of the leading international magazine, Time, turn of the millennium edition (1999), with Ulysses (James Joyce) and One Hundred Years of Solitude (Gabriel Garcia Marquez).
